Jim Rettew is a nonprofit executive and social entrepreneur. He finds creative solutions to problems worth solving. Tackling social ills from an entrepreneurial mindset, Jim has helped clients from General Mills to the Red Cross remove waste, improve service delivery and better align their organizations to accomplishing their missions. With a multi-sector, multi-disciplinary background, Jim utilizes best-in-class process improvement tools such as design thinking, lean startup and strategic roadmaps. His process involves deep empathy for the end user, creative problem solving and rapid prototyping. Jim is also the founder of Barnraisings.com, a local startup that acts like Kickstarter for Minnesota nonprofits, raising hundreds of thousands of dollars for local charities. He is a 2014 Humphrey School Fellow, 2014 White House Innovation Fellow finalist and the winner of the 2012 Minnesota Idea Open.
