Chad Kampe is executive director of Mid-Continent Oceanographic Institute, a Twin Cities nonprofit that supports under-resourced students with their writing skills and homework, emphasizing cross-curriculum creativity. Previously, Chad was an elementary classroom teacher at The Friends School of Minnesota and Minneapolis Jewish Day School. He was awarded GLAD’s Teacher of the Year. Chad has served on the board of directors for the Independent School Association of the Central States. He has a bachelor’s degree in media and cultural studies from Macalester College and a master’s degree in education administration from Teachers College, Columbia University. He has previously presented at ISACS’s Annual Conference, Association of Writers and Writing Programs, and performed at venues across the Twin Cities. Chad enjoys traveling, DJing, writing comedy, and exploring new restaurants.
