Abdifatah Farah Ali (Abdi Phenomenal) is an award-winning spoken word artist, teaching artist, actor, and a community activist who has been featured at the White House and the Nobel Peace Prize Forum. His work has been featured in the New York Times, Al-Jazeera, and the project dubbed ͞The Youth/Dhallinyarada which highlights the contributions of several exceptional young Somali American men to the Somali-American community. Inspired by Maya Angelou, Abdi is a second-generation poet who adapts a language inherited after the diaspora as a method to revive the great poetic tradition of his forefathers. As a member of the Minnesota Spoken Word Association, Abdi is dedicated to impacting literacy and youth leadership through the art of spoken word. Abdi is also a Member of the Minneapolis Arts Commission and currently lives and works in Minneapolis, MN.
