Nausheena Hussain

Nausheena Hussain is co-founder and executive director of the new nonprofit, RISE - Reviving the Islamic Sisterhood, which she created to empower women in her community. She is dedicated to building a movement to address leadership development, increase community engagement, and create a philanthropic legacy for change. Nausheena also co-founded of the Brooklyn Park Islamic Center and the Muslim Youth Leadership Award. She has served with organizations such as the Charter Commission for the City of Brooklyn Park, the Brooklyns Coalition of Color, and the Headwaters Foundation. She is also a fellow graduate of the American Muslim Civic Leadership Institute and is now completing her fellowship at Studio/E entrepreneurial program. She was named the 2012 Catalytic Leader by the Minnesota Council of Nonprofits. Nausheena graduated from the University of Minnesota cum laude in 2003 with her MBA. Married with two young children, she lives in Brooklyn Park, Minnesota.
